Slider Loading Bar

Hi, on our website (http://dev.remodelersuniversity.com/) between the main navigation menu (where our logo is) and the homepage slider (the four images with headlines and text that fade in and out as the next one ones) there is a “loading bar” (that’s the best way I can describe it) that goes across the entire page while one slider image is displayed and before the next one appears (see attached screenshot). It’s a little distracting so I was wondering if there is any way to remove it? I’d rather not disable the actual animation of the images fading in and out if possible but, if not, I might be willing to sacrifice that feature in order to remove the black bar. Thank you.

Also, on a related note, I want each of my slides to last for 8 seconds. I have managed that, but after 6 seconds all of the text and the button disappear. How do I make it so the timing of the transitions stay the same but nothing disappears for the duration of the slide? Thank you.
