Revolution slider security

Hello,

i just learn that plugin in extinct pack are not free update.

So i learn too that there is since July 2014 a security problem with revolution slider plugin early than 4.2 version.

What do you think about that ? Is it really dangerous, and it’s better to pay the update ?

or maybe do you have a freepatch ?
