Revolution Slider not appearing on Homepage

Hello, I’m trying to customize my new Extinct theme so that it looks like the LiveMesh demo in terms of layout and basic widgets. (https://www.livemeshthemes.com/themes/?theme=Extinct).

I’ve created a new Revolution Slider and added some photos for slides, saved the settings as default. In the Widgets section I’ve dragged the Revolution Slider widget to the Homepage Slider Area and clicked “Home Page Only”, but no slider appears when I view the site.

I see a note here: “For show only on homepage use: <?php putRevSlider(“Homey”,”homepage”) ?>”, but I’d prefer not to mess with the CSS coding if it can avoided.

Please advise, and thank you in advance.
