Is there an easy way to remove comment box on a default page?

On the Page edit window, enable display of the discussion/comments options for the page, if not already enabled under screen options.

Then you can uncheck the ‘Allow Comments’ and ‘Allow Pingbacks’ checkbox –

Is this possible to do with the squash theme? I don’t see these options.

This is a native function of WP and hence the option exists as part of every installation irrespective of the theme used. Can you make sure you check the below option to make the option visible ?

The option should show up at the very bottom of the page edit window; may be that’s why you missed it. Thanks

I’m still not seeing these options for squash theme. I tried to toggle off comments in the main menu but I never have see the menu as described above in page edit mode.

Did you check the ‘Discussion’ option as well? That should display this option. Pls confirm. Thanks

I found a way around this, I just went to quick edit for the pages and there was an allow comments checkbox. There may be a plugin that was interfering with the tips you provided. I haven’t had time to investigate fully.

Ok great. Was not aware of quick edit option. Much easier than the one I suggested. Thanks for letting me know.
