    I want to change portfolio Categories description Style so that they show up below Title BG as my descriptions would be quite lengthy.

    You can use the “Description” area under Header options in the edit portfolio window ,which will show the description under the entry title .

    You can enter the category name in the “Description” area (under Header options) and you can comment out line no: 38 and 39 of file single-portfolio.php to remove the category name in the project details section .
