MemberHello,
i’am on wordpress 4.1.1When i try to modify an uploaded image with the wp tool, the image doesn’t display and i can’t crop or turn or whatever.
If i try to rotate, i have this message : “Could not load the preview image. Please reload the page and try again.” (in french : “Impossible de charger l’image de prévisualisation. Veuillez recharger la page et réessayer.”)
I you have an idea, thanks

ModeratorCan you pls check if this problem occurs with default theme like Twenty Thirteen? Most probably it would cause the same issue. The common reason for this would be the GD library not being installed on the host. You will need to check with your hosting provider for this.
Pls have a look at this post to check for GD library being installed –

MemberThanks for your reply. I do the test with the test.php file and it say that php GD library is installed on my web server.
I think but, i’am not sure that the problem come with the update of wordpress from 3.x to 4.x version.
I wait for idea to resolve this problem.
Thanks by advance.

ModeratorDisabling plugins did not resolve the issue. You may need to reinstall WordPress to resolve this. It is hard to pinpoint where the issue could be – .htaccess, folder permissions, or something like a newline in PHP file as reported below –
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/edit-media-broken-image-cant-crop-or-edit
or bad formatting of PHP files as reported below –
http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/107833/cant-edit-images
You can also check the error log in the cpanel and see if there is any error which shows up whenever you try to edit the image.
