Featured image in post

Hi there,

I am wanting to add a featured image to a post but only for the purpose of displaying a thumbnail image, however when I add one it also displays at the top of the post?!

Can you tell me how I can remove the image from the top of the post please. I have seen this post here https://www.livemeshthemes.com/support/forums/topic/featured-image-in-posts/ but only deals with archive posts and maybe the the way of fixing it? Maybe you can amend the css code that you gave for this?

Also when I upload a featured image I do not have the options that are displayed in your documentation, maybe there has been a WP update since you created this? I have attached a screenshot of the options I have.

And you are absolutely right about the options for “Set featured image”, that got changed with the later version of the WP, after we created the documentation.
