Entry title background on news template

I’d like to change the title background on the standard news template page – this is not possible?

If I add an image to ‘entry title background’ nothing happens. The page title area stays solid blue.

Entry title background image should work.Can you pls check whether if there is any syntax error in custom CSS or not?

None of the page settings work on the news template. I can’t disable breadcrumbs either.

How would I see a syntax error?
