Editing the footer

How would I remove things like “powered by wordpress” and such from the bottom of the footer?

I would also like to add social media Icons to the footer if that’s possible. Would I need to code that into the Footer Insert in theme options or is there some easier way.

You’ll need to apply “Social Icons” widgets on your footer. You’ll find it the widget section of your wp-dashboard – Drag Social widget into a Footer widget area.
