Blog page image display not working

On my website, images are correctly displayed on the blog post page, see http://kotahi.net/iot-challenges-for-nz/ but the same image is not displayed on the blog page with recent posts, see http://kotahi.net/blog/

This was working fine a few days ago but some setting or update seems to have broken it. How can I fix this?

Can you pls change thumbnail generation in general tab of theme options to WordPress and see if that helps.
