MemberOk sorry. A little bit of a brain-freeze there.
I swapped out the layout-manager.php with the one you provided above.I have tested it several times with re-dating several entries and I am very happy to report that it works.
Fantastic!
Thank you for your attention to this.dvhughes
MemberOk…I was tied up with another job for a bit, now I am back on this.
Thanks for the obove attachment. However I am unsure what to do with it.
And does it over-ride the code posted in reply #2810?Thanks.

MemberOk…I think I have narrowed down the issue.
As stated above, I swapped out the code in line 450 as suggested. (It is now the shorter code you posted in reply #2782)
The portfolio entries (in the portfolio templates) load as one would expect, last first, when inside a defined portfolio template. Beautiful. No problems there.
However, the “recent work” portfolio shortcode in the home page seems to disregard post times and loads entries at random. (If a tag term is specified, it loads those tags at random.)
Maybe there is something amiss in the homepage code that I unwittingly screwed up?
Here is that code:[segment][show_post_snippets post_type="portfolio" number_of_columns=4 post_count=7 image_size='medium' excerpt_count=100 display_text="true" show_excerpt="true" hide_thumbnail="false" post_type="portfolio" intro_text=" Our Recent Work Here is a small sample of our most recent work. Be sure to check out our entire portfolio to get a better understanding of what we can create just for you."][/segment]
If the entries in the general portfolio templates loaded randomly, I don’t think I would mind that much. But a “Recent Work” shortcode should definitely be loading the most recent first.
I know that development is an ongoing process and I do not expect solutions overnight.
Your work is genuinely appreciated.dvhughes

MemberIf you want to still create a separate template with category filter, give me couple of days time and I will be able to get something done wherein you can specify the categories for a portfolio template. Since this is a popular request, I can make this process a little easier for everyone with your help. Hope you can wait.
Christmas comes early!
This would be absolutely fantastic.
I would be happy to help out anyway I can.dvhughes

MemberAny reason why portfolio item thumbs would not be loading chronologically on a page? (Newest entry thumbs in the top left, oldest bottom right.) It seems random. Absolutely maddening.
Suggestions?

MemberUnfortunately, my client has an extensive portfolio with many categories. The best solution I had was to isolate category families and create a portfolio page for each.
I read the above thread several times while researching a solution and it is now in use for the home page “recent work” portfolio previews, but it is a clumsy fix for a large category family.
So there is nothing I can add to an existing “…sorted-full-width.php” that would only call specific categories? That is too bad.
I will ponder my options some more.
Thanks for your input.

MemberAnd finally…Can I now import the Outage font into the Rev Slider? I tried just calling it up in the “Edit CSS” tab, but I know I must need an @import line. Can you help me out here or would you like me to start a new thread?
Resolved

MemberOk…I finally figured out what was going on with Firefox.
The fonts do not load in a subdomain. However, they appear when the browser is pointed to the directory. Chrome and Safari work either way.
Hopefully this issue will resolve itself when I migrate the site.dvhughes
MemberYes..I knew there must have been a step I missed or a font name that I neglected to swap out.
I really thought I got them all.
I also thought that perhaps that I may have had a conflict with editing the style.css directly and then also in the Custom Styles tab. It was a bit of a cluster****.Due to the fact that the above tutorial is using a particular font and all of the instances need to be swapped out, the steps might be better served with a screenie of the code with all of the font-family changes highlighted as well as the URLS.
Also, I think I may have gotten a little confused with the instructions in the style.css editor. I liked that they were there, and they were quite clear, but being an intermediate and working with a brand new theme can lead to bold but pointless .css editing when something is not working after a few hours. I ended up going back and forth several times and wasn’t sure which code was the true cause of the problem. You may want to add another /* line reinforcing the Custom CSS Tab override. The appearance of redundancy can cause confusion. (Did for me anyway.)
Hope that helps.
Finally, two things:…
I would like to stop pulling Weston from your site. I should just be able to use the working Outage code and swap out URLS and font-families, correct? And finally…Can I now import the Outage font into the Rev Slider? I tried just calling it up in the “Edit CSS” tab, but I know I must need an @import line. Can you help me out here or would you like me to start a new thread?
Again..THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!
If there was a 6th star to give, I would gladly give it.dvhughes
MemberAll good to go. Firefox is now cooperating.
So was the problem in the Custom CSS or the Extinct Child style.css?
(I cannot see reply #2688, so I suspect it was not for me.)Really appreciate you getting in there for me and resolving it.
I have a lot of patience and can usually figure this stuff out on my own, but this was truly dumbfounding me and felt I had to ask for ask for help. Thanks again.

MemberFirefox really doesn’t like importing these fonts.
Works with Chrome and Safari.dvhughes
MemberDid you do that or did I? (I suspect you did, but I was monkeying with it just now and got frustrated and stopped.)
Its working now and I really have no idea why.
Can you explain what I missed?
