Youtube Video Shortcode

Hi, I’m building my website over the demo content and changed the video_url of the youtube shortcode so i can replace the video with mine… It all works fine but I keep getting a black background instead of a scene… Could you tell me what am I doing wrong… I’m pasting the shortcode exactly as I’m using it, thanks for the help!!!!

You can try using the YouTube URL in this manner:

Also, if you leave the default shortcode, does it work in your website?

Hi Ernesto, i tried the url as you told me and it didn’t work… If i leave the default short code with the demo video…IT DOESNT WORK EITHER…

As discussed in the email, we will work on this issue happening specially with Chrome 34 and above and get back to you with a fix/workaround. For now, if you can afford to do it, you can use autoplay=”true” as an attribute like this (posting it just for everyone’s benefit) –

I am also wondering about the YouTube video shortcode. Is there a way to stop the video from automatically playing on page load?

The issue should be resolved in the latest update for Austin. The placeholder image is shown until the video starts playing.

The documentation has details on how to enable or disable autoplay on the video shortcodes.
