What is the best way to update the Invent Theme?
I have tried the following: Download a new package, then unzip it and simply copy it on the webserver. For plugins this works best. In this case my site did not work at all.
The next possibility would be to simply uninstall and delete the theme. Then install the new version. But here I have the worry that my content, which I created in the theme, is then simply gone. And once again I don’t want to destroy my site.
So, where can I find instructions on how to update the theme without accidents?
February 11, 2020 at 4:17 am #35500RaghavendraModeratorIf you are upgrading from version 4.x and below, I would recommend you test everything out in a dev server before upgrading the theme to 5.x version. There are migration instructions in the documentation on the changes that can affect your site since 5.x is a major rewrite of the theme with focus on performance and customization.
If you have already moved to 5.x, then you can just activate a plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/ or just delete and reupload the theme to the server. Data does is not affected when you delete the theme and reupload.

I have now saved my complete WordPress page and tested what happens when I upload the current version.
Problem is: With the new version of Invent, the symbol rotates continuously and no page is loaded. Absolutely no page.
So I loaded my old version again.
What could be the reason for this phenomenon?February 17, 2020 at 12:42 pm #35506RaghavendraModeratorProbably a Javascript error on the page which prevents the loading icon from being removed by Javascript. Can I get a link to the page as a private message here?
Or you can send us a temp login via our profile page contact form – https://themeforest.net/user/livemesh#contact and we will try to see what exactly is the error when we upgrade.
February 19, 2020 at 12:24 pm #35510Ingo AhnfeldtParticipantOk, I can send you a temp login. But I need an email then. Can you please give it to me?
February 20, 2020 at 6:36 am #35511RaghavendraModeratorYou can safely email us through the profile page contact form of ours – http://themeforest.net/user/LiveMesh#contact.

You wrote here, that I have to give you a temp admin account on my site in case you would like to test what the problem is.
If I want to create an admin account I will need an email address that I have to use for.
Or how should I create the admin account for your?
Please I try now a long time to solve the problem. I know, that i am because of work can not look every time in here, but now I would like to solve the problemThe Icons are not visible, so in mobile the site can not navigate for the users, because they doesn’t see the icon from menu. The new version doesnt’ work etc.
PLease tell me how you I should give you the admin account!!
February 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm #35517RaghavendraModeratorCan you try using this plugin instead of creating an account – https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/.
For admin account, you can always use the email that I posted in the above thread.
February 24, 2020 at 1:30 pm #35521RaghavendraModeratorThe site has a plugin activated named digimember which is messing up the icons. I restored our icons by overriding the styles set by digimember this way in custom css in theme options –
.rst__moveHandle:before, [class*=" icon-"]:before, [class^=icon-]:before { font-family: icomoon !important; }
Pls deactivate the digimember plugin if you do not need the same to resolve the issue permanently.May 13, 2020 at 6:22 pm #35625Nathalie MederoParticipantThis reply has been marked as private.May 15, 2020 at 1:17 am #35626Nathalie MederoParticipantHi, I am having the same problem on my website (https://stemsuccesscenter.org/). How did you solve this issue?
May 15, 2020 at 1:12 pm #35629RaghavendraModeratorNathalie – can you pls open another thread to resolve any update issues you face with the new version? I checked the two sites – the second one loaded just fine while the first one still has 1.7 version. I was not sure if I wanted to upgrade a live site and hence wanted to check with you.
