Unable to Edit pages with Visual Composer

Good Morning,

I have a Fit Pro Theme. For whatever reason my Visual Composer is not working. Whenever I click on backend it just loads and loads, same thing on the front end. I haven’t been able to use it for quite a while, but I’m just now trying to make edits that I can’t. I tried reinstalling the plugin and it still hasn’t worked.

Pls update your theme to latest version .
You can download latest version theme from your themeforest account > downloads tab.

Pls use the enavato toolkit to update theme

Pls do note that you will lose any changes you have made in the theme folder but the theme options, settings etc. will remain. Good to have a backup of the Custom CSS though.

And also update the VC plugin files .
You can find the plugins zip file in frameworks/plugins folder – js_composer.zip and templatera.zip.

You can use this plugin- http://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/ also for updating theme and plugin.

Hi, I went through all of the steps to use the envato wordpress toolkit and it installed properly. When I clicked update automatically I received this string of error messages:

The VC was quite old and was incompatible with latest versions of WordPress. I deleted the same and the templatera plugin and reinstalled the new version and things look fine now.

You still need to install the latest version of theme (2.2). If you do not have any customizations, just delete the theme and upload the latest version again.

I just updated the theme. I only have one more question for you. I tried to reactivate the VC, however it’s asking me for a product key. Is there one associated with the fit pro theme I purchased when I initially purchased fit pro.

The VC plugin bundled with the theme is having extended license and you cannot use that license or product key to register with the author of that plugin. If you need one, you will need to purchase a separate regular license of the plugin.
The plugin is fully functional with extended license so you can ignore the product key notification. You can activate the plugin just like any other wordpress plugin , after activating you should see vc menu in your wp-admin menu area.
(If you want direct support from plugin author then you can think of buying direct license.)

And the purchase key that you have recieved at the time of purchase is for the fitpro theme only .
