We’ve had a site running for many months on the Wired theme and since WordPress 4.8 a couple of things have changed:
1) SiteOrigin Page Builder editing defaults to Visual instead of the default (which used to be Text)
2) tags around other elements are removed when a page is updated
For example: <p class=”news-butt”>Full Story</p>
becomes: <p class=”news-butt”>Full Story</p>I’ve tried updating the theme files manually and disabling all plugins except for SiteOrigin plugins, but this does not seem to resolve the issue.
I will send login details in a private message in case you need to take a look.
Thank you for your attention!

Just confirmed it’s working on Firefox, Chrome and in a private tab.
https://licoenergymetals.com/July 13, 2017 at 1:59 pm #27037RaghavendraModeratorI created a new page with link here –
https://licoenergymetals.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1551&action=edit
and the link stays without being removed. And I do not see the visual tab since you disabled it from the Users options. If the issue is only present when you use a p tag, I was able to accomplish the same too in the above post although I don’t recommend using a p tag which is a block element inside of a inline element. Pls see here – https://stackoverflow.com/questions/13911274/can-a-p-tag-in-a-tag
If you are having trouble with Visual tab showing up all the time, you should contact the author of the plugin SiteOrigin page builder. They should be able to help. You should be able to open an issue here –

I’m using the same login I sent to you and the Visual/Text tabs still show, even on the new test page you created. It still defaults to the Visual tab. I’ve submitted a bug report to the SiteOrigin GitHub, but if you have any insights, I’d appreciate it.
I understand that tags around <p> tags are non-standard, but without javascript there seems to not be a good way to make all contents of a
a link, etc. I’ve been having bad luck finding a better, js-free solution. Sometimes it is possible to use <span> tags inside an , but that’s hacky at best. -
