Spotlight Carousel pic not resizing

I’m currently using the “Home Page 1″ template for my home page, but I’m having some trouble with the Spotlight Carousel (responsive carousel) widget. In any of the elements, when I replace the provided stock photo with a photo of my own, the photo is always too long. I’ve tried resizing the photos and copy/ pasting the photo source directly into the already provided HTML like so:

Instead of

img class=”size-full wp-image-4778″ src=”https://www.livemeshthemes.com/invent/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2014/06/14222217954_f201ebd246_b-e1401946662704.jpg” alt=”img-portfolio”

I just replace the link with my own photo, for instance like
img class=”size-full wp-image-4778″ src=”http://mypic.jpg” alt=”img-portfolio”

(note that I removed the brackets so that you can see the underlying HTML)

However, no matter what size picture (same or different pics even) that I upload, they are always longer than the other elements that still contain stock photos. How can this be fixed?

Can you pls try to upload images that having same aspect ratio as that of demo carousel images?
