I’ve set up a staff page, using the Faculty & Staff template. I set the ‘Staff’ layout to use a left sidebar, which works perfectly. However, if you’re on the front-end staff page and you click on a staff specialization, it filters the staff images but it loses the sidebar. The space for the sidebar is still there, but the sidebar content is missing. How do I specify the sidebar for the pages that show the staff for each specialization?
    Thanks in advance

Screenshots here – one of the working staff page, and another when you click on a specialism and the sidebar disappears.

I checked the latest version of the theme and the same sidebar is seen on both staff template and on specialization page. Pls confirm if you have the latest version of the theme activated since we had this issue in the previous versions. If you do have the latest version, pls share a temp login as a private message so that we can check the backend. Thanks.

You might be right, I’m using an activated child theme that’s on version 1.0. The parent theme is saying it’s version 1.7.

If I just activate the parent theme will all of the content and settings still apply? Or is it possible to update the child theme?

You just need to update the parent theme. The child theme need not be updated.

Looks like you have chosen a custom sidebar in the staff page which cannot be applied to the taxonomy pages. The taxonomy pages are auto generated by WordPress and currently we cannot customize much like regular pages and posts which have an edit screen of their own where you get to configure them.

I have dragged the same widget to the Staff sidebar and now the same sidebar shows up. The effect is the same in that same sidebar shows up although a different widget area is shown. Pls check the specialization pages now.
