Portfolio View for Blogs

Hello,

I’d like to get a number of my latest blog posts to display on my homepage in the same way you have sample portfolio posts showing (four columns, small image, etc.). I’ve tried experimenting with both portfolio and blog shortcodes (https://www.livemeshthemes.com/extinct/portfolio-shortcodes/ & https://www.livemeshthemes.com/extinct/blog-shortcodes/) but I cannot seem to get it right. Would someone be able to help steer me in the right direction with this one?

Thanks for the reply meterorite. Yes, I had already tried that unfortunately, but that made no difference. Are there any other prerequisites other than putting that code in the page? Still learning all these theme settings.
