Play button for self-hosted video using video_section?

I’m using the video_section tag to display a self-hosted video. I don’t want to host the desktop version of the video on YouTube for various reasons.

The video should not start automatically. I’ve created a placeholder graphic, which eventually will contain a play button. I’ve looked through the documentation.

It’s possible that I’m missing something obvious here, but I can’t see how you make the video play by clicking on the the placeholder image. Any help?

At present the theme does not support this. But you can insert a self hosted video using the regular WordPress insert media button just like you add a image to the post. Pls check this shortcode –

You may also want to check some plugins like this one –

and see if they meet your need.
