Missing Images in Portfolio

I’m not sure when this happened, possibly during a wordpress update but the feature image is missing from all of my portfolio posts (screenshot attached).

If I look at the source, the src is empty where there should be the URL for the image. I thought it might be a compatibility problem so I wanted to install the latest update of the theme. I have version 3 of the theme but I see there is a 3.1.1 now. I tried to download it but all I get is version 3.

Any suggestions as to what’s going on?

I’m running on a VPS on Digital Ocean, Ubuntu 14. PHP 5.6.

Ok it turns out that it fails when using https:// I switched my site back to http: and things work.

Still, how do I get an updated version of the theme? I don’t have to repurchase a new license do I?

No need to buy new license, you just need to go to your themeforest Account > Downloads tab and download theme that will automatically gets you the newest version.

Ok thanks, but when I do that and look in the style.css it says version 3 and not 3.1.1. Or is that not a good indicator?
