Hope you have resolved it already.September 16, 2015 at 6:13 am #16516VeenaModeratorBy the way can you pls check if the .htaccess file has this default content?

Uncaught TypeError: $(…).unbind(…).on is not a function
in the console and it happens with all versions of Visual Composer (I upgraded yours to check) and the error occurs with all themes and even with default Twenty Fifteen theme loaded.
Looks like a JS library is not being loaded for some reason. Have you made any configuration changes lately on the server which caused this?

You can retain the same DB and retain the themes/plugins folder so that data is not lost.
You have error even on the home page (although it seems to be admin related again) –
Uncaught TypeError: this.on is not a function – admin-bar.min.js:1
and hence it is not related to visual composer. And it spits out these errors even with the default Twenty Fifteen theme loaded and no plugins activated on all browsers. Really strange.
Honestly, it is hard to debug this since it occurs with all configurations. Seems related to some JS file being misplaced or wrong version loaded.

I am not an expert in nginx ( I suppose that is the web server you have, if my memory serves right) and can only point to some help in this regard –
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/permalinks-nginx-not-working-help-required
and
https://wordpress.org/plugins/nginx-helper/
You need to have that index.php in the URL to be removed.
There is no need to remove the theme. You can have the same copied to some other location and then copy it back once you finish reinstalling wordpress. nginx is a hard nut to crack and hope you are able to resolve this.
