    I changed the color of the Background For Footer Widget Area in theme options but it didn’t actually change the footer widget area.

    Added the following custom CSS. Will get the theme fixed for this defect in upcoming update. Thanks for letting us know about this issue –

    #footer-top { background: #300060; }
