Hi,
Our client has been using your theme for a while now and has been getting hundreds of GWMT errors for their URLs. Some of the errors are legitimate, but some are URLs that are on the clients site but with /feed /atom or /trackback on the end, making it a 404 error.
E.g.
http://www.mgacontrols.com/news/valves/hobbs-cryogenic-valve/feed/
http://www.mgacontrols.com/2013/02/22/top-5-solution-stories/feed/atom/
http://www.mgacontrols.com/news/solenoid-valves/solenoid-valves-series-067-rocker-isolation-valve-range/trackback/This is really frustrating as we are getting LOADS of errors. This has never happened with any other site we have created before, and the only difference between this site and our others is the theme.
I tried creating a robots.txt file which included:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /feed/
Disallow: /trackback/
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Disallow: /wp-content/
Disallow: /wp-includes/
Disallow: /xmlrpc.php
Disallow: /wp-
Allow: /wp-content/uploads/
Sitemap: http://www.mgacontrols.com/sitemap.xmlbut this hasn’t worked, I’m not sure if I’ve missed something.
Any help wold be MUCH appreciated as this has been going on for ages.
Thanks

June 7, 2014 at 11:21 am #7268RaghavendraModeratorLooks like the URL structure was changed recently from an earlier one which had news/category in the URL to the present which has only the post-name. So, the above URLs

http://www.mgacontrols.com/2013/02/22/top-5-solution-stories/feed/atom/

http://www.mgacontrols.com/top-5-solution-stories/feed/atom/
http://www.mgacontrols.com/solenoid-valves-series-067-rocker-isolation-valve-range/trackback/and while redirects are in place for the main URLs pointing to the posts(not the feeds) but the redirect to the feed is missing. So while

http://www.mgacontrols.com/top-5-solution-stories/
http://www.mgacontrols.com/solenoid-valves-series-067-rocker-isolation-valve-range/your feed URLs are not. Either you can specify an explicit redirect using one of redirect plugins or just wait until GWMT updates itself on these URLs. It is probably using the old URLs since you do not have a redirect in place. Looks like it is just a matter of time. My advice would be to do a redirect so that these errors go away. Permalink link structure redirects must be put in place for the feeds. Hope this helps.
