Faculty filter with department instead of specialization

Hi,
on the faculty page , i need to show the department names instead of specialization names and when clicked on a particular department name , it will show the faculties that belongs to that specific department .

Right now, its showing the specialization names and when clicked on a particular specialization name, its showing those faculties that have the specialization .

so i just need to change this faculty filtering functionality with department instead of specialization

The way the theme is implemented at present, it is not possible to do this directly. Department is a custom post type while filtering applies only to taxonomies/categories. You can simulate that by having taxonomies as department names. A department is lot more than a taxonomy/classification since it is a real entity that has data of its own with courses offered and faculty, address, phone number, website, department head etc.

As an alternative to what you are asking, we can have users see a list of departments and make them navigate to the appropriate department to view its faculty instead of just listing names and then displaying faculty for the departments. That’s the best you can do at present with our theme as seen here –
