Extend entry-summary

Is it possible to extend the entry-summary to display more characters (more of the blog post)?

Here is the blog home page. We want to show a little more of the post on this page. Possible?

Pls go to Themeoptions -> General tab , find option “Excerpt Character Count” and there specify the number of characters that needs to be displayed for excerpts.
