Public thread opened by user Zetland after we migrated to new server.

    Hello Support,

The slider on my site used to have a setting where it showed one slide, then flashed into another, then another, and so on. Now, since one update, it’s been replaced with one which slides from one screenshot to another. The problem is, when a user loads the homepage, the iPhone display is just white for about a second, before it loads the first slide. You can probably see it here.

How can I change this back to the original slider display?

    Thanks,

    James

Zetland – You can change that behavior by providing animation=’fade’ attribute to the [iphone_slider animation=’fade’] shortcode.

Slide animation is generally preferable – makes change of slide noticeable while fade can provide an impression that a single image is just animating. Hence the change. Pls let me know if we need to make some improvement to it or fix something on the slider. Thanks.

Thanks, I’ve added that but it still isn’t working. Incidentally, you can see why I’m looking to change it from the slide version – the slider doesn’t load the image straight away, so the first thing users see is a blank white screen: vocularapp.com

Is there something else I need to change in the shortcode?

I tested this in my dev machine and had no issues switching to fade instead of slide. Here is the actual code I used

    [smartphone_slider device="iphone7gold" animation="fade" direction_nav=true control_nav=false pause_on_hover=false image_urls="http://localhost/wp32dev/appdev/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2013/07/album.jpg,http://localhost/wp32dev/appdev/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2013/07/albums.jpg,http://localhost/wp32dev/appdev/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2013/07/Profile.jpg"]

Pls provide me a temp login if this still does not work.

Great, that’s sorted it. The problem was that it only works with the double speech marks, no single ones. Thanks!
