Add a PHone number to the header

I have tried to add a text phone number to the header, by editing the header.php, but it doesn’t resize and isn’t mobile responsive. How do I make it flow with the site better?

You will need to handle responsiveness just the same way we do. Using Media queries –

Thanks for the response. I understand how that applies, but what is really getting to me more than page size is when someone scrolls down the page and the header resizes. any Suggestions how to deal with that one?
