Thanks livemesh. Good to know about the multiple databases and pointing wp-config to the one I want to use. I’ll do this next time as I’ve been building the site over the sample data. I will have to manual delete the sample data after.
Because I’ve been editing over the sample data, I wanted a clean install with the sample data so I can see the websites in parallel and make the necessary adjustments to code. But I get stuck at the importing the .xml file (with …wp-admin/admin.php?import=wordpress&step=2 in the address bar) . I wonder if its anything to do with the wordpress install? I’m using godaddy and have used the inbuilt wordpress installation tool to create the site and database.
