Managing layout with sidebar enabled on home page can be tricky. How about just using the default template and setting it as home page instead of using the regular home page which is supposed to be full width? You can then insert the revolution slider shortcode at the top of this page using the Custom Heading Options in the Page Edit window as seen below –
